We have been back onboard Dolce Farr Niente for nearly three weeks now. I feel like I owe an update; sorry, there is nothing glamourous to report. We have done lots; but, we haven’t travelled far.

We boarded DFN back in Cleopatra Marina. Roger brought a motor for the watermaker from home and had arranged for that to be installed on arrival. After a couple of days at Cleopatra, we moved over to Preveza and had a few days there to get things tidied up and ready for sailing.

After some investigation and with the help of a local electrician in Preveza, we discovered that the solenoid for the propane stove needs to be replaced. Of course that is not just your ordinary run-of-the-mill solenoid. The electrician did find and order a replacement part. It was originally supposed to arrive this week; but, now it is delayed for another two weeks.

With that fresh disappointment, we decided to head back into the Ambracian Gulf for a couple of days at anchor with nature.

We had a lovely sail into the Gulf and visited a couple of anchorages. After this little “shakedown”, we decided to head to Lefkada for service and to have a couple of things checked by the CYS technicians.

After the short stop in Lefkada Town, we motored through the canal and settled for a few days at a beautiful anchorage at Nikiana.

The water at Nikiana was so clear you could see the bottom when we anchored at nine meters. We had several beautiful and calm days… …while we toiled away tweaking the vacuflush system for the forward head. (If you want to know more about heads and the systems onboard, I invite you to revisit the post from May.)

Fortunately at the end of those days we could have a swim, shower and visit the cute town and tavernas on shore. We are now waiting for more parts on order, this time for the head.

We are rounding out the first weeks back in Greece with a few days on anchor at Nydri. There is really no place like Tranquil Bay to watch people anchor while standing at the bow with hands on hips making sure they don’t get too close or cross chains.

Today is a rainy day, the first rain here since May, we are spending it inside. It’s nice to just stay in a spot if you want–no rush to be anywhere. Ah yes, The Sweetness of Doing Nothing!

Glad you are going with the glow and just knowing these boat things seem to happen when they happen. Don’t forget to look up and be amazed at all the beauty around you. You are troopers😍

Yay! Radler lives on! 😁As my dad has said about retirement, today I have nothing to do. If I don’t get it all finished I will work on it tomorrow. On some level it is a miracle that we are able to live on and traverse over water with such relative ease. The odds and sods fixes are a small price to pay for such miracles.P.s., does that pizza place deliver to Nova Scotia? 🤤
