We have been experiencing the weather ups and downs of approaching Spring. Monday was absolutely stunning. We worked on deck all afternoon. We finished cleaning the stainless steel and did some general tidying.

Deck cleaning is a thankless job that needs to be restarted as soon as it is done. Monday night we had wind and rain from the south again. This time it brought a fine powdery sand that covered and stuck to everything. We are told this is desert sand blown in from Egypt. It might have been the same storm that caused the container ship to run aground in the Suez Canal; the timing is right. I guess the sand blows in from time to time, more often in May.

That meant that Tuesday was once again deck cleaning day. It was quite cold for the rest of the week. We had a couple of days with high wind gusts. The electronics have been checked, the AIS was serviced. Everything is working now and the gadgets are talking to each other. We are still waiting on the winch parts. Eyeroll!

Today the weather seems to have turned. It is currently 17 and sunny with almost no wind. We took the opportunity to roll out the sails to get some air on them and make sure they are good and dry.

We don’t like the look of the genoa; but, I think it is more just the colour of the poor thing. We expect to hear back on the recut sail this coming week.

Roger should be hiding....looks like that poor genoa was buried in the sand! Give him a scrub brush and some soap and leave him to it :) You guys sound like you're enjoying yourselves though! Mike, Linda, Patti and I all have our "first" shots so we are on the way to putting this pandemic behind us I hope. Take care and we'll chat soon.

Everything looks amazing. Although I am not a sailor, even I can tell that sail needs a good scrub!! Get Rog on it!! Signs of Spring are here too. My crocuses are up, though likely wishing for little crocus sweaters every now and then. Happy Easter! Keep living the life!

Keep the passerelle down so the bunny can get on board to leave chocolate. So much polishing, must be looking fine! Have fun, stay safe. Love to you.

Those brown sails are usually made of expensive low stretch, high strength cloth. It you don't like the colour, I'm sure you can sell it and get two white ones. And sand storms from Egypt! Sounds a bit "far fetched" to me, if you know what I mean. Maybe there's sand on the hard there somewhere perhaps? In any event, cleaning the deck of your boat looks more appealing than the day to day here at the moment. Enjoy!

Paul knows nothing... enjoy your African sand. WAY better than snow (if there’s just a little)...
