We are back aboard DFN after about three months back at home in Canada. SK-Yachting has taken good care of her here at Marmaris Yat Marin in our absence. They checked her regularly and completed a few requested maintenance jobs while we were gone.

We have owned DFN for a full year now with very little time on the water; so, we are anxious to get geared up and get going. However, we do have quite a long “to do” list. The first week has been spent cleaning the deck and starting to get things in order topside–polishing chrome, putting up the dodger and the bimini, cleaning the windows, making a list and checking it twice…

A rigger from Silver Marine was on board to check the rigging. He was the same rigger that installed the new rigging about two years ago. He confirmed that everything is still in good shape. He did recommend washing and polishing the mast. I am not quite sure who will be going up there to do that?

Our return seems perfectly timed. Spring is definitely arriving. We have had beautiful and calm days all week.

Love the deck and yes, the anchor as well! Looking forward to hearing about many adventures to come. Bloody freezing here, certainly no spring around the corner is visible from where I sit!

Well as I sit here practicing my fiddle and trying to find joy in the winter in Canada I find myself asking-why are they there and I am here. Just read a wonderful quote: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain I am taking the VHF course to get even more ready. She is beautiful and I love all the above comments, especially painted chain. Say hi to Graham for me. Vaccines coming here quickly so who knows-alls I'm saying

Linda Langley we can’t wait to have you join us! Don’t forget to check out this week’s update too.
