We have been forced to change our plans. We were called home to Canada because of COVID-19 and the global pandemic in March. Since we would be away from DFN for a while, we decided to tackle some of the items on our boat work list. The mini-refit included replacing the teak deck and stripping the bottom down to the glass. More on those projects to come.
We are back in Marmaris to check on the progress of the work. We can’t stay onboard since DFN is on the hard and she is a bit of a construction zone right now. We are staying in the town of Marmaris.
Marmaris Bay is a huge horseshoe-shaped bay with an island protecting the entrance. Steep pine-covered mountains slope down to the water. From where we are sitting at The Candan City Beach Hotel (between Old Town and the Hotel Strip in the town of Marmaris), we can look across (south-east) to Marmaris Yacht Marina. Icmeler is to our right (around the horseshoe to the west).

We decided to rent a scooter to get us back and forth between town and the Marina.
In our spare time we are also seeing a few more of the sights nearby. Icmeler Beach is just 20 minutes around the bay by scooter.
