Taking a winch apart
No words
It is kind of a bummer being back at the dock. It is probably just as well since we found a few items needing repair/replacement. The weather was not so good for sailing in any event; we had a couple of days with wind gusts in excess of 30 knots.

Roger spent much of Monday in the engine room tinkering with the electric pump for the two main heads (aka toilets for the non-boaters). Just when we were feeling so close to having all of our chores done, the damn pump started to act up. It is a big engine room; but, still no place for Roger to spend too much time. I learned a few new “salty” words during this work. Rest assured, he had me down in there too before it was all said and done. Luckily we had a spare pump on board and we were able to get one of the guys from SK Yachting to install it on Tuesday.

Being inside gave us the chance to continue to inventory and edit all of the stuff on board. This is a sample of what we found under one of the spare bunks. Much of that has made its way to new homes.
We also reviewed our first aid supplies. We made two first aid kits and still had some extra items to share.
Good news, the winch parts arrived!

Disassembled
Looks like new
We replaced the sheets and cleats on the mainsail traveller system. The old cleats were pretty gnarly.
The last bit of maintenance for the week… …we found we have a leak; a very small amount of water coming in around the shrouds. Our deck contractor is coming back to fix that; but, we will need riggers to take the shrouds off for the repair. That is supposed to happen on Monday; more on that next week.
