Hotel dock at Marmaris Yacht Marine has been a fine safe home for the past couple of months; but it is starting to feel like The Eagles song “Hotel California”–…you can check out any time you like; but you can never leave…

The deck guy came on Monday to do his small repair. Tuesday we shopped for provisions. Finally on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 we pushed off from Hotel Dock. We stayed at anchor in nearby Icmeler for the first night. Nova Vida was nearby.

Thursday we headed for Gocek. We started in winds of about 17 knots. We had a bit of time sailing with the genoa before the wind diminished to about 5 knots. We motored most of the way. When we entered Gocek Bay, Nova Vida peeled off for Fethiye while we continued in to Gocek. We spent two nights at anchor in Gocek before joining Nova Vida in Fethiye for a night.

We will spend the night here in Fethiye and wait for more favourable winds to make our next move further along the Turkish southeast coast.

I hope the weather had started to improve and you have been able to have some good sailing days. Enjoy every moment of the journey.

It looks incredible and what a journey you are having! Hotel California analogy cracked me up!

The adventure (on the water) begins!Don’t get too far into those colitas before you hit someone’s Mercedes Benz... Hotel Dock was probably fine in the mean-time and better than the Nova Scotian “clampdown”!The sunset on the bow looks perfect! Fill your sails and do the blow boat!
