On the western entrance to Fethiye Korfezi (Gulf of Fethiye) there are a couple of islands and a protected bay, Skopea Limani. There are a number of wonderful anchorages here. This is a very popular spot and we are arriving for the weekend; but, we managed to find a protected spot with room for DFN and Delawana to anchor together with lines to shore for a couple of tranquil days and nights. We all enjoyed lots of swimming and SUPing. Doug’s training continued with some time in the engine room looking at the generator. LOL! Our favourite things in this cove include the regular ice cream boats and grocery boats.

After a couple of days “in the wild”, we decided to head towards a town for provisions and contact with civilization. The town of Fethiye is on the western side of the gulf. It has become a favourite stop. We pulled into the marina at Yacht Classic Sunday afternoon after a short sail across the gulf. Our friends on Delawana joined us at Yacht Classic on Monday. There is a beautiful restaurant and very nice facilities (pools, spa, showers) at Yacht Classic. We have access to all of these things and the marina fee is half-price when you dine at the restaurant. I was looking forward to a trip to the Turkish Bath here; but, I have the sniffles so I decided to take a pass. Tuesday is the local market day; we got lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Tuesday evening we walked up the hill to El Camino Hostel and Pub. This pub is a great deck with spectacular views of Fethiye.

We managed to get someone to come and repair “Kenny”, our washing machine. He had died in a previous episode (LOL, South Park). And also take care of some other little items. We are staying in and around this area a little longer than planned while we wait out a couple of days of heavy wind.

Looks so amazing. Not sure what SUPing is, but if it is in the same category as You-Up’ing, I’m sure there will be some stories to follow.
