Lockdown started Thursday evening, April 29, 2021. We are very fortunately to be able to live on Dolce Farr Niente and to travel among the many anchorages in Mugla province.

Skopea Limani is a protected bay and group of small islands right at the entrance to Fethiye Korfezi, the gulf that includes Fethiye and Gocek. There are many anchorages to explore in Skopea Limani. Leaving Gocek, we spotted the grocery boats and the ice cream gulet. At that point we were feeling pretty sure we will be able to make the best of this situation. First stop was a quick hop to Yassica Adalari where we anchored with lines to shore.

The following day we travelled another short distance to Sarsala Iskelesi. We spent two nights at this anchorage. We had many swims and we took the dinghy to shore for a walk along the bank.

We left Skopea Limani Monday afternoon and motored the short distance around the corner to Kizikuyruk Koyu. Waking up Tuesday morning in this little cove was a special treat. It was very calm, the wild herbs and flowers on the hillside scented the air. Before long we heard the bleating of the goats and the clanging of their bells.

We got underway fairly early for a longer trip to Bozuk Buku. Bozuk Buku is past Marmaris, more north and west from our previous travels along the southeast coast. So far what our friend at Yacht Marine and fellow Canadian, Daryl on Vimy, told us about the weather holds true–no matter which direction you are headed, the wind is always coming towards you. Unfortunately another day of steaming; about seven hours.

The steam was totally worth it, Bozuk Buku is charming. We are moored with lines to the dock at Sailor’s House. There are very few people here; definitely more donkeys and goats. We had a delicious (if not cheap) dinner at Sailor’s House last evening. Bozuk Buku has the remains of a citadel at the entrance. Rog and I scrambled over the rocks for a hike there this morning.

Bozuk Buku is very close to Greece, we skirted the island of Rhodos on route. That is Rhodos on the horizon behind Roger at the citadel. You can see the landscape is looking more white, like Greece, here.

Well, if you have to tough-out a lock-down, it looks like you’re in a pretty good spot. Amazing pics. Stay safe and keep posting. J
